"Picture" blankets

Happy August ( yes I know I am late)!!! Do you know what that means? That means FOOTBALL is right around the corner. I love me some collage football. Anyways.....

I've got a new addiction. It is called graph afghans. I've always wanted to try to make one but, I guess you can say, I was scared of them. I went as far as buying a pattern before Thanksgiving of last year. I started on it and took it a part several times because I didn't understand it. At least I didn't think I understood it.

Two months ago I did some research and figured out how to read a graph/chart and I learned how to crochet from it. It is a whole lot easier then what I thought it was. I finished it last week.

Go Dawgs!!!!

Top of the blanket.

Bottom of the blanket.

This one was delivered to a good friend this morning for her son. She is going to give it to him for his birthday next month. :)

I have addiction to these blankets now. I have more patterns that I got as a gift ( actually black male I guess. Somebody gave them to me for me to make them blankets lol). I'm going to do them slowly so I won't get burnt out on them.

You can buy a Ga Bulldog blanket from my shop.( here )

These blankets are priced between $100.00-150.00 depending on the size, how many different colors, and the difficulty of the blanket.

Keep on checking the online store...you may find some on sale from time to time. :)

Lets catch up!!

Wow! It has been a while since I blogged...6 months that is. Well in those 6 months we have moved, got a Great Dane puppy, finished the school year and now the kids goes back to school in 19 days. I have also started a cookie and cake shop to but I will save that for a different blog.
This one was a couple of days after we got her.

She was 4 months old here. Yes she is just a PUPPY.

Nothing but a BIG lovable teddy bear.

I don't remember if I shared with ya'll that I started making a graph afghan. Well now you are sitting there saying " What in the world is that?". It is a blanket that has a picture made in it. I've heard them called picture blankets and several other things.

I started it before we moved and then it got packed up and I forgot about it. I actually thought that it got tossed out because I didn't really understand what I was really doing. My husband found it last month when he was unpacking a box that had some of his stuff in it. I didn't really know what to do with it because it looked like a mess but at the same time I didn't want to toss it out because there was really a lot of yarn there so I took it apart. The next day I was looking around at some pictures on facebook and I saw a completed graph afghan and I was in aw with it. I did some research and figured out the correct way to ready the chart and how to change colors and all that good stuff.

I try to work on it a little every day and get at least 3 rows finished before I go to bed.

A month later, I get the nose done.

Now I have all most ALL of the head done which means I am all most done with the blanket. I've learned a lot while working on this blanket. I didn't think I could do it when I purchased the pattern and the yarn but I like to challenge myself and find out what I can and can't do and see if I can figure it out.

I've made a list of other charts I want to get and I've also got some free ones that I have found. During the time that I've been working on it, I've been told " You are going to want to do more after this one." "They are addictive." I was thinking "Yeah right I'm not going to want to do more after this." Well guess what....I DO want to do more after this one and they ARE addictive. I think it is the challenge of making them for me. I never thought that I would be able to do it and I am pleased to know that I CAN do it.

I will post a picture of the finished one when I get it done in the next week or two.

If you would like to order one, you can find it here in my shop.  I will be adding more later on of different things. If you want another blanket ( like a foot ball team, base ball team, kid's favorite character, or anything else and you don't see it in the shop just send me an email : junesprettythings@gmail.com and I will do my best to see if I can find a pattern for it.

Weekly Wrap UP

This week has been a good week for the shop. I've added new items to it such as the headbands that I can make in any size and color.
How cute are they?!?!? Any little girl would LOVE to have some of them to complete their outfit.

I also added something new this week. The survivor bracelets ( or paracord bracelets).

I've been wanting to make some for a while now but I didn't  know where to get the stuff I needed to make them and I didn't actually know how to make them. I did a lot of research and found out I can go to my local craft store and get the stuff I needed to make them. I came home and with in 15 minutes I had the fist one ( the rainbow one) made and then 10 minutes later I made my second one. These things are addicting to make. They don't take long and it is something that I can do while I take a break from crocheting. Best thing about it is that I don't have to actually pay attention to what I'm doing, I can just sit back and relax or what tv with my family but still do something because my hands has to be moving.

That pretty much sums up this week. I hope next week will be as good as this week was for the shop.

Happy 2013

Sorry I haven't been here posting for a couple of months. Life got real busy around the holidays. Speaking of holidays...HAPPY 2013!!!!!!!!

New things is going to be happening in 2013 for June's Pretty Things. I'm going to try to blog at least once or twice a week. I haven't been good at blogging but I hope that I can change that this year.
I will be adding more items to the shop too. I will have new items that you can customize to fit the size you need and want with the colors that you want.
I'm also going to be having ready to ship items in the shop too. What does that mean??? It means that if you order an item that is ready to ship, you won't have to wait the 5-7 days for me to make the item and mail it to you. What will the item look like? It will be what you see in the pictures....no surprises and no waiting for it to be made !!! :)
There is a whole lot more coming to but I don't want to say to much at one time so just follow June's Pretty Things here and on Facebook and you will find out.
